What’s included?
-
During the Tour, we will need to travel on a couple of occasions. We’ll meet in Albufeira which is in the center of the Algarve. From there we’ll need to go to the border next to Spain to start the Tour, and then when we reach the end of Europe on the other side we’ll also need to go back to Albufeira.
We’ll need to take another short bus trip to one of the extra activities which is also included.
We’ll make trips by train by bus and by boat. All of this transportation is included on the ticket!
-
In total we’ll spend 7 nights in the Algarve. Rest assured that we’ll take care of that for you.
All 7 accommodations will be included on the ticket!
-
All the meals are included on this Tour! That’s breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Lunches will be served at typical Portuguese restaurants. The breakfasts and dinners will be at the hotels.
Please be sure to inform us of any type of intolerance or food allergy when you buy the ticket.
-
We’ll have a few things to make your adventure much more comfortable!
There will be a van that will accompany us during the whole Tour which will carry your luggage for the trip so you won’t be riding with a super heavy backpack. If you travel to Portugal with a big checked bag please bring a backpack to carry your belongings during the tour. Only backpacks or carry-on luggage will be allowed in the van.
Right next to the meeting point, we’ll have a warehouse where you can leave your oversized luggage with some items you won’t need on the first couple of days and then when we get back there you’ll be able to switch things on your bags. The van only has space for one bag per rider so please be mindful of that!
There will be a few extra Onewheels with us at all times. If something unexpected happens to your board you’ll be able to ride with one of those.
If you want to bring an extra Onewheel that you have, you are welcome to. The van will carry it and if something happens to your main board you’ll have an extra backup.
There will be water in the van for you to refill your bottles every time we stop to charge. MAKE SURE YOU DON’T LOSE YOUR BOTTLES!
There will be spare safety gear available as well so that if you end up accidentally forgetting yours and want to try that super gnarly downhill, you’ll do it protected. However, these will require you to make a money deposit which will be returned to you when you return the safety gear to a staff member.
A first aid kit will always be with us during the ride.
The authorities and medical first responders will have all the information about our event and will be always ready to act fast in case of an emergency.
-
To start off there will be some special items that will be available only for the lucky ones who got the OWAT ticket.
We’ll also have trail clinics during the event where you can learn new stuff and take your riding to the next level with a special focus on technical downhills!
And it wouldn’t be a OWAT without some surprises. We can give you a hint, this event it’s not just about getting on your board and riding from point A to point B, there will be special “experiences” on the OWAT 2026!
What to expect each day!
Day 0
“The Gathering”
September 23rd
We call this day 0 because we’re not really going to start the “Tour” on this day. We’ll meet in the place where the OWARace happens to get to know each other and have some fun.
Over there you can do some friendly racing on the track, you can go explore a natural park close by or you can even go over to the technical trails over on the cliffside (entrance just 1 min away from the meeting point).
Then, in the afternoon, the event officially starts. We’ll get a train to go over to the border of Portugal and Spain where we’ll stay the rest of the day riding around the town.
At night everyone is free to do whatever they want, stay at the hotel, go to a bar, go on a group ride, etc. Just keep in mind that at 6 am the next day you’ll have to be ready to ride!
Day 1
“The Long Journey”
September 24th
On the first day, we’ll do a lot of riding, we’ll have to fully charge our boards 4 times before reaching the final city of the day, it’s almost the halfway point of the Algarve.
The terrain is very flat on this day and being mostly roads and bike lanes, it’s the perfect start to warm up our legs and get ready for what’s to come!
It’s the beginning of our adventure so enjoy the views, the towns and get to know your fellow riders!
Day 2
“The Trails”
September 25th
The name says it all, day 2 is all about the trails!
We won’t cover a lot of distance on this day so we’ll make it up by being one with some of the best trails. We’ll start off with a chill trail during sunrise around the Faro Airport to warm up and move over to the forest trail afterward.

This will be the day when we’ll be back at the meeting point so you’ll be able to do some friendly racing at the OWARace location as well if you missed it! On this day we’ll go to a hidden location in the heart of the Algarve to explore other trails that are not part of the OWAT path but they’re too good for us to miss. We’ll ride through a river-side trail that leads to the old ruins of the Paderne Castle built 1000 years ago.*
Please remember to BRING ALL YOUR SAFETY GEAR!!! Even if you don’t use it on most of the Tour, trust us, you’re gonna wish you had it with you on this day.
*While a few parts of this trail will be incredibly gnarly and seem impossible, we guarantee that they are in fact possible to do except two very small sections where we have to cross the riverbed. While not gnarly at all, it’s too rocky to ride. In total, during the whole ride, we’ll have to carry our board only here for a minimum of 1’18’’.
Day 3
“Chill day”
September 26th
We’re halfway there, and it’s time to chill a bit. On this day, you’ll be able to stay in the hotel pool relaxing if you want, but we also have other things planned for those who just want to ride more!
Day 3 will be more relaxed, so people can stay around the hotel area, or follow us to find new paths where we didn’t venture on previous years!
We’ll explain the diferent options available on the day and everyone will be able to choose what they prefer to do.
Day 4
“The Cliffs Emerge”
September 27th
Even though days 2 is the trail day, it doesn’t mean the trails are over. On day 4 we’ll keep doing trails but the best things about this day are the views!
The cliffs that appeared on the previous days start to get bigger and bigger and the view from up there is just breathtaking. Take a moment to enjoy it and snap some photos!
On this day we’re also doing a small party at “XpertEnergy”, the only onewheel seller in the country. If you need a quick tune-up or an extra accessory get it there (OWAT riders may or may not have a small discount on selected items, don’t tell anyone). Other than that you’ll also be able to try out any other electric vehicle they have, like the Sur-Ron or the Super 73!
Day 5
“The End of Europe”
September 28th
This will be the last day of riding across the country, we’ll reach the end of Europe!!
But before that, we have one last technical trail to conquer, and what a trail it is. This path has both the best view and the hardest downhill. While riding here really take your time to take it all in, it’s not every day you’ll be able to ride on top of 100mt high cliffs looking down at a never-ending sea! Unfortunately (or fortunately for some riders) to exit the trail we’ll have to do the hardest technical downhill in the whole event!
Afterwards, we’ll keep going on minor roads and dirt paths passing a couple of small towns until the very end where we’ll reach the lighthouse at the end of Europe. Here, we’ll watch that beautiful sunset after a very hard trip, relax and conclude our journey.
Day 6
“The adventure continues…”
September 29th
So you’ve just crossed a country riding a Onewheel and still want more??
Good news then! We’re taking you to another hidden gem in the heart of the Algarve, Get ready to end the adventure away from the big cities and into the forests!
We’ll take you to the highest point of the Algarve, from where we’ll be able to see most of the path we did during the previous days. And guess what we’ll do right after that? Of course it’s more trail riding!!
To conclude the adventure, there’s no better way than a couple of hours on a prestigious spa followed by a massage, and that’s exactly what’s waiting for us, ending an epic adventure on the best way possible!
Day 7
“P’ro ano há mais!”
September 30th
And that’s it, nothing left to do but to get on the bus that’ll take us back to the meeting point in the morning and say our goodbyes.
The event ends Wednesday after lunch but for those who stay longer get ready because the OWARace starts right after!!
Safety & Important Info
-
→ Helmets and wrist guards are mandatory!
→ All participants who have a Pint X must have a fast charger!
→ All participants must have their own Chargers for Onewheel and mobile phones!
→ All participants must be able to do 23km on their Onewheel!
→ This event will be held outdoors so we’re subject to weather conditions. Although rain is unlikely, it is something that can happen and is impossible to control! The event will not be canceled due to bad weather, and it is the responsibility of each participant who registers for the event for any damage caused to their own Onewheel by rain or any other type of occurrence!
→ During the event there will be lots of areas where participants can accelerate, do tricks, jumps, and ride freely in the way they want. However, there will also be areas where all participants must maintain a constant speed and follow in a group, more precisely on busy roads. Failure to comply with this rule will result in immediate expulsion!
→ During the event some areas, specially some of the trails, will be extremely difficult and even the most experienced riders may need to carry the Onewheel by hand to overcome some obstacles! Be mindful of your skill level and be prepared to carry the board when you’re not able to ride on those sections.

-
The meeting point will be the “Pista de corta mato das Açoteias”
So how do you get there?
If you come by plane you should come to FARO AIRPORT. Then get the bus to the FARO TRAIN STATION. And finally get the train to the BOLIQUEIME TRAIN STATION which is just 4 stops away, around 20 min. From there it’s just 5km from the meeting point so when you get there either get a taxi/uber or let us know you’ve arrived and depending on the time we might be able to pick you up 🤙
If you come by car on the highway A2 you should exit to the A22 in the direction of FARO and immediately exit on BOLIQUEIME. Go forward in the direction of the TRAIN STATION and go past it by going under a small bridge on the right. Turn right at the end of the road, when you see the gas station in front, then turn left immediately after crossing a bridge. At the end of this road, you’ve reached the meeting point! Just follow the GPS it’s easier!
F.A.Q.
-
Less than 1 km away from the meeting point there are a couple of free outdoor parking lots.
-
The short answer is you can bring any Onewheel model BUT you MUST be able to do more than 23km in a single charge and ALSO charge your battery in around 1h30!
-
It depends on what Onewheel you bring. Pint/Pint X MUST bring a hypercharger due to their charge time. With a regular charger, you take around 3 hours to fully charge a Pint X, and that’s too much time for this event because we’ll be always on the move. Please if your charging time is over 1h30/2h bring a fast charger or you won’t be able to participate!
-
Each section will be around 20km. Please be sure you can do at least 23km on a single charge just to be safe.
-
There will be 4 charging stops on the first day and 3 on the remaining days.
-
Each stop will be around 1h30 long.
-
Get ready to wake up early! 6 am early!
We want to avoid doing part of the tour during the night so we’ll have to wake up early to go as far as we can during daylight (don’t worry, there will be night rides, we just want to avoid going from one city to another when it’s dark). So we’ll leave every day at around 6 am and we should be arriving at the final destination of the day at around 7 pm. A more detailed schedule will be provided to the participants
-
YES!
-
At the moment only Onewheels are allowed to enter the Onewheel Algarve Tour XR.
